Clever Mutts was founded by Kat Haggart Bsc (Hons) in 2011. Kat has a wealth of experience with dogs and only uses positive re-inforcement. Clever Mutts is not part of a franchise.
Kat not only has a Bsc (Hons) in Animal Behaviour and Welfare, she has experience running working kennels and has worked in boarding and rescue kennels. She regularly uses clicker training and attends the Dogs Trust International Companion Animal Welfare Conference. Kat also has qualifications in animal first aid, grooming and TTouch.
Kat is against all forceful types of training and will never use them, although she is not yet acredited by the APTD she follows their guidelines.
There are many dog walkers/sitters out there and it can be very hard to know who to choose. To help make your decision easier Clever Mutts policy provides a free consultation where you will be joined on your normal routine so you can show us exactly how you do things, and allow you to get to know us.
Unfortunately there are many animal qualifications out there and it can be a minefield trying to know which is the best. That is why Kat has only ever used the best education facilities possible.
She qualified with a 2:1 (Hons) in Animal Behaviour and Welfare from Chester University, and before this completed a National Diploma in Animal Welfare at Houghall College in Durham. These facilites provide the best education and spaces are competed for, instead of an internet course anyone can do.
